Initial Evaluation

Evaluation, Written Report, and Review

Following receipt of physician referral (if applicable), we will complete initial evaluation. Evaluations include comprehensive speech and/or language testing to assess the child’s current skills. It may include observations, standardized testing, review of intake form / parent questionnaire, and dynamic assessments. Evaluation may last 1 - 2 hours. After the evaluation is complete, the therapist will create an appropriate family/child centered treatment plan.

  • Does your child have difficulty saying certain sounds?

Does your child omit sounds or substitute one sound for another?

Is it hard for others to understand your child?

Therapy targeting articulation or phonology may be beneficial for your child!

  • Does your child have difficulty understanding language?

Do they have trouble grasping the meaning of words they hear?

Does your child have difficulty following directions or understanding basic concepts?

Your child may benefit from receptive language therapy!

  • Does your child have a hard time expressing themselves?

Do they have difficulty labeling items, combining words together, or asking questions?

Does your child become frustrated when they are not able to communicate?

An expressive language evaluation and therapy may be appropriate for your child!
